Credit where credit is due

Dear Editor:

Dear Editor:

While reading the cover story in last week’s paper regarding the sandbagging effort to save the Teske’s home in Trout Creek, I saw my name and company being mentioned as one of the volunteers. I appreciate the mention, and it was quite the effort that took place over five evenings.

However, one name was not mentioned in the article that I feel should have been. This home would have never been saved if not for Steve Almas, who, after the first day of placing five pallets worth of sandbags, realized they needed far more sandbags and a lot more help. That’s when he called me.

Two members of my crew, Laurie Barnes and Sean Ripley (two fine young men), volunteered their time with me and our equipment and along with Steve and various volunteers over five evenings, we placed another 25 pallets of sandbags. Steve was the man in charge and he deserves a big pat on the back. Thanks for getting us involved Steve!
