I love being able to pass on opportunities that allow people to get involved with the arts here in Summerland.

I especially love being able to help youths get involved, as it’s the kind of the thing that can really create and foster a true love for all things creative.

In this case, here’s a chance to get involved helping kids with music.

The wonderful Linnea Good is gearing up to put on her Summerland Music Camp at the end of July and is looking for youths ages 13 to 18 to be youth leaders.

You’d be a home group to children ages six to 12 and would assist workshop leaders as they lead singing, ukulele, hip hop, arts and games for the camp participants.

Not only do you get to be a part of an outstanding team of leaders, you also get training, an honorarium for your time, a letter of recommendation and you’ll get to spend a week helping fuel the love of music in kids.

This is a great chance for anyone who thinks they might want to dedicate their lives to teaching kids music or teaching kids or even just for someone looking to spend a week surrounded by great people making music.

If you, or someone you know, is interested in this opportunity, you can find out more information and register at www.linneagood.com.

On the other side of this, if you have a child ages six to 12, Linnea Good’s Summerland Music Camp is a great way to start off the summer.

The camp runs from July 24 to 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and offers children a chance to learn ukulele, do arts and crafts and other fun activities.

This camp is sure to be ideal for any child you have, or know, who has shown an interest in music.

Ukulele is a excellent instrument for kids to get started on and Linnea is such a great teacher that even my two-year-old picked things up from her last summer at the Sunday Farmers’ Market (and she would have been 18 months at the time).

Don’t miss out on this excellent camp. More information and registration can be found online at, you guessed it, www.linneagood.com.

Be sure you don’t miss out.
