ROSS KRAUTER ?

November 19, 1928 - June 13, 2017

Ross passed away calmly and peacefully June 13, 2017 at the age of 88 years, while playing his favourite game of Solitaire on his computer.

Ross was devoted to his family and will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Loretta, son Greg, daughter Laurel (Jim Wilkinson), and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces from across Canada.

Two generations of relatives and family members share memories of Ross interminably driving his boat. Every summer, Ross offered many patient hours in order that many could have their first experiences waterskiing - all with excitement, falling, dunking , laughter, and a great deal of love.

Ross was born in Young, SK into a homesteading, pioneer family. He spent 25 years in the Royal Canadian Air Force at bases in several provinces across Canada. Ross was the deserving recipient of a citation for "Outstanding Suggestions to Improve the Operations of National Defense Headquarters, Ottawa." He then moved to Summerland, bought a business, designed and built the family home, and has happily lived here ever since. Ross was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Rotary Club where he was very active as a member and on the executive of both organizations.

Upon retirement, Ross and Loretta travelled to Europe and across Canada and the US in a motorhome before settling back to enjoy "our" valley.

With deepest affection, we extend our heartfelt thanks to John Lusted, Jacob, and Laurie of Chase Valley Care Home, who took care of Ross for the past 2-1/2 years with love, laughter, and compassionate, caring dedication. A special thanks to the Lusted family for the warm family atmosphere that emanates throughout their home.

Ross requested no service.
