SMITH, Phillip Mathew 1924 – 2007 Beloved husband, dad, and grandpa, of Summerland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 16th, 2007. Survived by his wife Pat, with who he celebrated their 60th anniversary in June 2007, and his children Gary (Barb) of Salmon Arm, BC, Donna (Jack), Nancy, and Margaret, all of Summerland, BC, his brother Bill of Penticton, BC, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other special persons. Born in Alliance Alberta, Phillip worked in logging and construction, including on the Mica Dam. However he always wanted to be a farmer and spent a few years in Enderby with that endeavour. Phillip was a WWII veteran and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 22. A Funeral Service was held Saturday, October 20th, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Summerland Alliance Church, 14820 Victoria Road North, Summerland, British Columbia, Padre Rick Gay offi ciating. Thank you to Dr. Harrold, Dr. Venkataraman, and Dr. Stevens for all their care and compassion; also to the Home Support Workers, especially Ray, and Robyn, the staff of SP3, and Joanne White.
