NORMA LOUISE COLEMAN

November 16, 2016

Coleman, Norma Louise

March 19, 1955 – November 16, 2016

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Norma Coleman. Born to Tannis (Drever) and Jack Coleman, Norma grew up in Meskanaw, SK with siblings Philip (Ruth), Susan, Stuart and Dean. She and husband Paul Dunlop raised their children Scott (Kate Baker, children: Ezra & Wren), Elizabeth (Paul Friesen), Heather (child: Riley) and Holly on 40 acres outside Delisle, SK before moving to Summerland, BC in 1992. She started a career in home support in 1989 and was a natural, always loving, kind and patient with all of the clients, just as she was with anyone lucky enough to cross her path. She volunteered with a number of local organizations and events. Norma enjoyed simple pleasures; she loved her iPad, being warm, phone calls with siblings, knitting, train rides, ball games, live music (“culture”), firepits, flowers (especially pansies), sunshine, movies, books and keeping up with Facebook. Her family was everything to her. She took great pride in her siblings and especially in her children. She devoted her life to being a mom and her kids knew she was always there with full acceptance of them and their life choices. She is remembered for her natural generosity, easy-going manner, quick wit, cheerful smile, amazing memory, authentic spirit and acceptance of all. This was Norma… a kind, generous, thoughtful soul who wasn’t afraid to reach out and offer warmth — Forever and For Always. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the outpouring of support, love and kindnesses over this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Scleroderma Society of Canada, 41 King William St. Suite 203, Hamilton, ON L8R 1A2 or a food bank of your choice.
