CAREY, MARTHA MARIE. Born January 23, 1924 in Mayerthorpe, Alberta, passed away December 1, 2009 in Penticton, BC. She will be lovingly missed by her two children: David and Ruth Carey, both of Summerland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Martha was predeceased by her husband Clarence in 2005, and by her parents and three sisters. She will always be remembered for being a wonderful Mom, and for being positive and gracious. She had a love for animals and roses. A Memorial Service was held at the Alliance Church of Summerland at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday December 9, 2009 officiated by Pastor Rick Gay. Interment at Canyon View Cemetery was followed by a reception for friends and family at the Alliance Church. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family c/o hansons@shawcable.com.
