Piatek, Martha Bertha (nee KROMBERG)
October 15, 1924 – October 14, 2016
Martha passed away peacefully at Hillside Village in Salmon Arm, with her loving daughter Gabrielle and grandson Sam by her side, after a long battle with dementia. Born in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, Martha emigrated to Canada, with her husband John and daughters Christine and Gabrielle, in 1952. She was a hardworking, capable, organized and dedicated woman who worked for the City of Calgary for many years until her retirement. Family and friends meant everything to Martha who took it upon herself to keep in touch with everyone for as long as she was able. Martha was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John, in 2006, her daughter Ingrid in 1953 and her daughter Christine Patterson in August 2016. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Gabrielle Brocke (Salmon Arm); grandchildren Sam Brocke (Salmon Arm), Robbie Lehmann (Singapore), Denise Lehmann (Calgary) and 5 great grandchildren. Her daughter would like to thank all the staff at Hillside Village who so lovely cared for Martha over the last six and a half years. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
