Jim Hermiston

Jim Hermiston passed away with his family by his side September 16, 2017 at the age of 60 years.

He will be remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife Cathy, children Christopher (Chelsea) of Vancouver, BC, Jessica (Mike) Epp of Lake Country, BC, and Bryan of Summerland, BC and granddaughter Riley.

Jim was a lifelong Summerland resident as was his father before him. After high school, he went to BCIT and graduated as a forestry technician. He worked in the forest industry until he left to run the family orchard full time. He felt growing people's food was an honorable profession.

Besides the family farm, Jim found time over the years to guide his sons through hockey - something which brought memorable fun.

He enjoyed golfing, camping, and fishing.

Jim took great pride in his family. He spent time with the kids not only in hockey, but figure skating, track and field, baseball, and camping/fishing outings.

Jim's Celebration of Life will be held on September 23, 2017 between 1-3 p.m. at I.O.O.F. Hall, 9536 Main St., Summerland, BC.

Memorial tributes may be made to Moog and Friends Hospice House, c/o Penticton and District Hospice Society, 129 Nanaimo W., Penticton, BC V2A 1N2, Agur Lake Camp, Box 1723, Summerland, BC or Canadian Cancer Society Southern Interior Region - Kelowna Office, 102-1433 St. Paul St., Kelowna, BC V1Y 2E4.
