SCOTT, James Alexander
Our much beloved James died peacefully, surrounded
by family, on Saturday, February 4. James was born in
Vancouver on August 20, 1964 to Tom and Margaret
Scott. He was the elder of two children. James grew up
in Deep Cove, BC. As a teenager, James spent two years
in Ethiopia with his family, which was the experience of a
lifetime. He moved to Summerland in his twenties where
he met his wife Amy. Their daughter Jacqueline was born
in 1995 and their son Reuben in 1997. James was a family
man and an amazing stay-at-home Dad. Jacqueline and
Reuben always thought they had the coolest Dad. James
loved music and his guitar was always near at hand. He
composed music and wrote lyrics to many of his own
songs. His great sense of humour was often incorporated
into his music. He also loved to jam with other musicians.
James loved to build things; he always had a project on
the go. He could fix any computer and get it running and
he shared these skills with many people. He was an easygoing
and open-minded man which garnered him many
friends. He was a supportive husband and father. James is
survived by his wife Amy Scott (Trenouth) his daughter
Jacqueline, his son Reuben, his mother Margaret and his
sister Norleen (Ken). James was predeceased by his father
Thomas Scott in 2007. James will be remembered for his
ingenious nature, his warmth, his music and his sense of
humour. James lived a full life, loved, and was dearly loved
by his family. He is, and always will be, deeply missed.
