Herbert “Pat” Earl Waylett of Summerland passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on May 6, 2009 at the age of 87 years. He is lovingly remembered by his family: wife, Pearl; four children, Garry (Gayle) of Vancouver, Bill (Gail) of Summerland, Randy (Denise) of Winnipeg and Mary Jane (Mark) of Calgary; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Pat was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather & great friend. Pat’s passions in life were; church, Cubs, Scouts, any opportunity to entertain with a song, a yodel, his guitar or a “corny” joke; anything to bring a smile to someone’s face. After a life working and raising a family in Winnipeg, Pat & Pearl moved to Summerland, where they made many wonderful friends. Pat loved life, humanity and the Lord. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service was held Monday, May 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Summerland Baptist Church, with Pastor Larry Schram officiating.
