Harold "Lee" HODGSON

Harold Lee Hodgson. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lee Hodgson on Tuesday, February 9, 2010. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Ann, his children: Alan, Sherry (Don) Gill, Brian (Wendy) and Pam (Clive) Lovett, 5 grandchildren: Joey, Katie, Keith, Nicole and Sophie plus numerous nieces and nephews. Lee was born March 5, 1929 at Carvel, AB. Lee and Ann were married Nov. 8, 1952. They lived in various places in Alberta as Lee worked for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce for 15 years. The family moved to Penticton in 1966 and then to Summerland in 1969. Lee established Penticton Hearing Aid Centre and was in the hearing aid business for 30 years. He was a founding member and president for 8 years at various times of the Summerland Golf and Country Club and a Life Member of the Club. He was president of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 22, Summerland, during 1979 and 1980. Lee joined the Kinsman Club at age 21 and then the K40 Club at age 40. He was on the Kinsman District 5 (Alberta) Executive 1964-65 and on the Kinsman District 3 (B.C.) executive 1968-69. He received the Penticton Kinsman of the Year award in 1969. Lee was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He was an avid golfer up until his 80th birthday. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren. Lee was always the cook in the family – everyone loved a great meal at Uncle Lee and Auntie Ann’s. Lee was diagnosed with liver cancer just one month ago. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his family and friends. Celebration of Life was held at the Summerland Golf & Country Club on Saturday, February 13, 2010, 2 – 4 p.m. Memorial tributes may be made to the Cancer Society or Moog and Friends Hospice House, 1701 Government St., Penticton, BC V2A 8J7.
