Geraldine Rose Marie Doré (Nov 3, 1936- Sept 10, 2009) (née Graf) died at Moog and Friends Hospice House with family by her side. She left behind Jules her husband of 53 years and their 6 children: Michele (Dennis), Thomas (Mary), John (Vickie), Jules Jr. (Noriko), Patrick (Elisa), and Elizabeth (Buster); her sister Roberta Shelby (Fred), her two brothers Patrick (Linda) and John Graf (Cherry), many nieces and nephews and extended family. Her grandchildren Robin, Robert, Sarah-Ann, Phillip and Kiera, all her great joy, will miss her deeply. Gerry has left behind a legacy of family and friends inspired by her amazing creative talents. She will be missed by the “Material Girls” Quilt Guild in Summerland and “Stitch and Bitch” Tuesdays will be a little quieter now. Gerry’s passion for Arts & Crafts kept her active and busy. She and Jules loved to travel and meet people and formed friendships that have survived the test of time and distance. A celebration and memorial for Gerry’s incredible life will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 from 2-5 pm at the Harold Simpson Memorial Youth Centre, 4111 Peach Orchard Road, Summerland.
