George McEACHERN

McEACHERN, GEORGE LEITCH Born in Glasgow, Scotland on December 28, 1917, passed away at Moog and Friends Hospice on Monday, April 26, 2010 at the age of 92 years, of natural causes. George’s family moved to Kingston, Ontario when he was 3 years old. He met and married Alice Clark in Kingston in 1941 and served in the Armed Forces until his retirement in the early 1960’s. Moving his family to Summerland in 1967, he and Alice finished raising their three children. In his later years, George was involved in the Summerland branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, and he enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors. He appreciated his weekly Scrabble and cribbage games with his friends. His quick wit, cheerfulness and sense of humor will be missed. George was predeceased by his best friend and wife, Alice, in 2005. He will be lovingly missed by sons Ian and Don (Betsy) of Quadra Island, daughter Lorna (Mark) of Penticton, and grandson Will (Emmy) of Kelowna. There will be no service by George’s request. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bannerman, the staff of Penticton Regional Hospital, and Moog and Friends Hospice, as well as staff at Angus Place.
