Ernest Max Seifert of Summerland, BC passed away peacefully January 26, 2010 at the age of 91 years. Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Gwen, daughters: Sharon (John) Lagarde; Linda (Fred) Harvey, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brothers: Walter (Marilyn) and Jim (Opal), sister Elsie Sullivan, sisters-in-law Theresa and Lottie, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Sadly predeceased by grandson Mario Lagarde. Ernie volunteered to serve his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force and was transferred overseas from 1942 to 1946. While there he met and married Gwen. After service he returned home to Disley, SK and farmed in Bethune and Disley for 20 years. He and his family moved to Summerland in the summer of 1967. He became a member of the Legion and Kiwanis. Ernie got a job as a mechanic at 5 Corners and later received his mechanic papers and worked for the Municipality of Summerland until retirement. He always enjoyed his trips down south for the winters. “He will be forever in our hearts.” No Service by his request.
