Bernardina “Narda” Catharina Hoeben of Summerland, BC passed away with her family by her side, on November 17 th, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Survived by her loving family: Husband of almost 50 years: Harry. Children: Janet (Mike) Barrett of Penticton, BC, Tina of Penticton, BC. 5 Grandchildren: Ryan, Haley, Landon Beggs all of Penticton, BC, Kristie Ans of Penticton, Mikey Barrett of Comox, BC. 2 Great Grandchildren. Narda was born and grew up in Holland. There she worked as a midwife. In 1958, she came to Canada as the bride of Harry Hoeben. They settled in Richmond, BC. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved homemaking, baking and knitting. In 1972 they moved to Summerland where she worked beside her husband on Hoeben’s Poultry Farm. She retired in 1981 to their home in Faulder. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Prayers were held Tuesday, November 20th, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Child Catholic Church, 14010 Rosedale Avenue, Summerland. followed by Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 21st, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Bennent offi ciating.
