CARNEGIE, ALISON
Alison Carnegie passed away peacefully in her sleep April 17, 2017
at the age of 89 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her family
John (Jane), Doug (Linda), and Carolyn (David), all of Summerland,
BC, Bruce (Brenda) of Penticton, BC, and Kathy (Ken) of Courtenay,
BC; grandchildren Heather (Dwayne), Colin (Chi), Laura (Chad), Evan,
Rebecca, Jennifer (Kevin), Matthew, Jessica, Troy, and Coleton; great
grandchildren Dylan, Ethan, Tian, and Ava; and nieces and nephews
Sheila, Patrick, Janet, Ian, Heather, and Brian and their families. She was
sadly predeceased by her husband Keith, brother Rob, and sister Robina.
Alison moved to Kaslo in 1929 when she was 2 years old. Her parents,
James and Hilda May Cowan, had an orchard in Shutty Bench. She
moved from Kaslo in 1949 and returned in 1964. In 2009, she moved to
Summerland to be near her children.
Alison loved her garden and looking after her many animals throughout
her life. She was a tireless worker wherever she lived including at St.
Marks Church, the Legion, and other organizations in Kaslo and St.
Stephens Anglican Church and Summerland Health Care Auxiliary in
Summerland. She will be remembered for her love of baking.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and
volunteers at Moog and Friends Hospice House in Penticton for their
wonderful care of Mom. The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday,
April 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephens Anglican Church, 9311 Prairie
Valley Rd., Summerland, BC with Rev. Rick Paulin officiating. Interment
will follow in Kaslo this summer. Memorial tributes may be made to the
hospice house in your community.
