Alexander Matthew ‘Alistair’ Hughes passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Sioux Lookout, ON. The family moved to West Vancouver in 1941 where Al grew up, attended school and started work.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Shirley Ann Hughes, his brother Bob and sister Sandra. He is survived by his children Mary Ann Nixon (Chris), James Hughes (Nancy) and Trish Bradley; grandchildren Chris, Tim, and Robyn Sagert; his brothers Bill Hughes (Helen), Jim Hughes (Karen), and Frank Hughes (Margaret); and his sister Sheila Hughes.
The Memorial Service is to be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2017 at Providence’s Summerland Chapel, 13205 Rosedale Ave., Summerland, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Cancer Foundation 150-686 Broadway W., Vancouver, BC V5Z 9Z9.
