Police and firefighters were called to a vehicle fire on Summerland Hill near Solly Road last Wednesday afternoon.
Three trucks and 10 firefighters attended.
The wind from the east blew the smoke and flames across the highway and away from the nearby trees.
Summerland RCMP said mice may have chewed through wiring or hoses in the engine compartment, leading to the fire. The 1998 Nissan was destroyed as a result of the fire.
