Summerland issues 12 building permits in July

Number and value of permits issued so far this year is higher than in recent past

Construction activity was slower in July than in previous months this year, but the number and value of building permits received this year is still well above previous recent years.

According to the July building statistics summary for July, a total of 12 building permits were issued during the month.

These include one single family home worth $750,000, one carriage home worth $202,000 and two swimming pools worth $145,000.

The value of all permits issued in July was $1,244,000

A year ago, 22 permits with a value of $4,110,000 were issued and from 2015 to 2018, the value of July’s building permits was $2 million or more.

However, the total value of building permits issued in Summerland is higher than in past years.

Since January, 135 permits worth $27,252,300 have been issued.

From January to June of 2018, 131 permits with a value of $18,590,600 had been issued.
