The municipality of Summerland will submit several funding applications.
A Federal Gas Tax Fund application is for upgrades to Giant’s Head Road.
The application will be sent to meet the June 1 deadline.
A second Federal Gas Tax Fund application is for $6 million to fund the engineering, procurement and construction phase of the Summerland Integrated Solar Project.
The municipality will also submit an application to the B.C. Rural Dividend Program for the Giant’s Head Mountain trail project.
In order to apply for this funding, council also voted to re-allocate $120,000 of earmarked capital funding from 2019 to 2018. This is needed for the trail project to support a $725,000 partnership grant application with the Rotary Club of Summerland.
