Penticton RCMP are asking for the public’s help after an 11-year-old girl was pulled to the ground and robbed of her candy Halloween night.

Sgt. Andrew Baylis said the girl and a friend were approached by four to six teens, one of who grabbed the bag of treats that was wrapped around her arm.

“She received minor scrapes and bruises,” said Baylis about the incident which happened about 8 p.m. near Tennis Street and Wade Avenue.

According to Baylis, the suspects were wearing unknown costumes with toques pulled down over their faces with eye holes. They were last seen travelling north on Tennis Street.

The girls were dressed as surgeons and were wearing light blue scrubs.

Anyone who may have seen the incident or have information is asked to call Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
