The 16th annual Penticton Pacific Northwest Elvis Festival kicked off Friday afternoon under sunny skies at Okanagan Lake Park.

Special guest performers Cody Ray Slaughter and Danny Vernon gave the small crowd a taste of what lies ahead for the weekend and Ralph “Relvis” Ramsay provided a little local flavour to the stage.

The competition got underway later in the afternoon and will continue again Saturday morning starting at 9:30 a.m.

The headliner show is Saturday night at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.

Sunday breakfast in the park starts at 7 a.m. with the popular gospel show running from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The finals begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at the trade and convention centre followed by the after party at the Lakeside ballroom starting at 5:30 p.m.
