A driver who reportedly overdosed on Percocet narrowly escaped death after crashing his 2006 Audi A4 into a fence in the 500-block of Municipal Avenue Monday just before 10 p.m.

According to Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth the 27-year-old male from Okanagan Falls went into medical distress after the vehicle jumped the curb and struck the fence.

At that time it’s believed paramedics administered an anti drug like naloxone to reverse the effects of the Percocet.

The man was alert and talking to police at the hospital after the incident. However, he was upset about the damage to his clothes as a result of the life-saving techniques used by emergency response workers and hospital staff.

The man admitted using the drugs to police and received a 24-hour roadside prohibition for impaired driving and the vehicle was impounded.

Wrigglesworth also said a quantity of drugs were taken from the man.
