The 2021 edition of Hometown Heroes Lottery has launched and a new house at the Ridge in Penticton is one of the nine homes across B.C. up for grabs.

The 3,137 square foot home, located at The Ridge - 182 Fawn Court, comes with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a two-car garage.

To go along with the new home, the winner would also get $50,000 cash for home furnishings, a 2021 BMW 745 LE sedan and $1.2 million in tax-free cash.

The total prize package is valued at over $2.4 million and is one of nine grand-prize packages the winner will get to choose from.

The annual lottery supports Vancouver General Hospital, the UBC Hospital Foundation and the British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund.

Ticket purchases raise funds for the most urgent hospital needs and support resilience-building programs for burn survivors and firefighters.

The pandemic has put these charitable organizations in ever more need than usual.

“Over the past year, all of our fundraising events were cancelled due to the pandemic. For this reason, funds raised by the Hometown Heroes Lottery are extremely important; they go towards our burn prevention programs, vital survivor services, and enhanced care for burn survivors,” said Gord Ditchburn, president of the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund.

There are over 3,200 prizes to win in this year’s main lottery, including the grand prize draw, three bonus draws and early bird draws, with total prizes worth over $3.2 million.

The grand prize winner of the Hometown Heroes Lottery can choose one of nine prize packages.

The 2021 grand prize homes are located in Vancouver, South Surrey, Langley, Courtenay, North Vancouver, Sooke, Penticton and Kelowna. To view all nine packages, go to heroeslottery.com.

The grand prize winner also has the option of choosing $2.1 million in tax-free cash.

Tickets start at $75 for three and can be purchased online at heroeslottery.com, by phone at 604-648-4376, toll-free at 1-866-597-4376, or in-person at any London Drugs.

Tickets for the 2021 Hometown Heroes Lottery are on sale now until midnight, July 16.
