Spring into laughter on May 2, when Allyson June Smith returns to Canada from the U.K. for a mini-tour that stops by The HUB on Martin in Penticton.

Smith hit the comedy club circuit, which in turn propelled her to headlining gigs at festivals including Winnipeg, Halifax and Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival.

In the years that followed, she received multiple nominations for Best Female Stand-up at the Canadian Comedy Awards, taped her own Comedy Now special and did stints on MuchMusic’s Video on Trial and CBC’s The Debaters.

Smith now lives in Manchester, U.K., but will be coming through Penticton thanks to Train Wreck Comedy.

“Allyson’s career has soared to new heights since moving to the U.K.,” said Rob Balsdon of Train Wreck Comedy. “Her friendly, conversational style is a crowd favourite, and her ability to command an audience is unmatched. If you’re a comedy fan, Allyson June Smith live is a must-see.”

Her ability to create an intimate connection with her audience, transforming every performance into a communal experience, sets her apart as a truly exceptional comedian, said Balsdon.

A limited number of early bird tickets are available for this event at www.trainwreckcomedy.com.
