Juno-winning artist Tal Bachman is headed to the Similkameen for an evening of music at the Grist Mill and Gardens Historic Site tonight.

The July 6 show, starting at 7 p.m. is the second in a series of outdoor evening concerts featuring exceptional music acts. The series, now in its fifth year, continues to grow, with a total of eleven concerts this summer.

Bachman is the singer/songwriter of smash hits She’s So High, Aeroplane, and others. His first album, the self-titled Tal Bachman, featured She’s So High, which reached No. 1 on three different radio formats in Canada.

The song became a top 10 hit in the United States and internationally, earning BMI’s Song of the Year award. The album earned Bachman two Juno awards in Canada, and much media exposure throughout the world. In support of the record, Bachman toured as an opening act for Bryan Adams and the Barenaked Ladies, and also toured in his own right.

Bachman’s second album, Staring Down The Sun, was released in Canada on Sextant Records in August 2004 and was released in the United States by Artemis Records in 2006. The single Aeroplane reached No. 20 on the Canadian charts.

Patrons are encouraged to bring your own blankets and low-rise lawn chairs; taller chairs are also welcome, but you may be asked to sit in the back to avoid obstructing the view of others. The Grist Mill & Gardens will be operating a concession with dinner, snack and drink options at each show.
