Skating club holds year-end concert
The Summerland Skating Club invites you to join them for their annual end of the season Pop Concert this Sunday, Feb. 26 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Summerland Arena. Admission by donation.

Storybook Landscapes, an installation/paintings with a Celtic theme by Stephen Prowse is currently in the Main Gallery at the Summerland Art Gallery.
Towards the Light, featuring oil paintings of trees and landscapes by Margaret Munn, is in the adjoining Adams Room. Both shows will be on display until March 3.
Gallery hours are Tuesday to Friday 1 to 4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Summerland Art Gallery is at 9533 Main Street.
Writing and Consciousness – Join Allison Rennie for an evening of thinking, talking and writing together at the first Philosophers’ Café evening of 2012 next Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Summerland Art Gallery. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is by donation. Coffee and refreshments available.
The Summerland Museum AGM will be held Saturday, March 3 at 7 p.m. at the I.O.O.F Hall. Guest speakers Marilyn and John Topham will give a short overview on Liberia’77 The Documentary. When their sons Jeff and Andrew Topham returned to the war torn West African country of their childhood to reshoot their father’s photos for a documentary, they found a nation whose photographic memory had been destroyed by war. Everyone welcome.
Preparations for Art Trip 2012 are well under way. This year for the first time artists’ studios in Naramata, Summerland, Penticton and south to Vaseux Lake, will all hold special open houses on May 19 and 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
