On the way to West Summerland, perhaps to do some Christmas shopping, the Binghams’ old truck travels along Prairie Valley Road North, where the orchards were plenty and residences fewer in 1949.
Prairie Valley still has its share of agricultural lands.
In earlier years, the area was the site of many of the first orchards owned by wealthy investors in the Summerland Development Company.
The area was often referred to as Millionaires’ Row.
