“Thank you” will be heard loud and clear to the hundreds of volunteers across the South Okanagan and Similkameen on April 20, in downtown Penticton.
Pancakes are set to be served up in Gyro Park when the South Okanagan Similkameen Volunteer Centre hosts an appreciation breakfast for the people who dedicate their time to give back to the community.
The event will run from 8 to 11 a.m., with Penticton firefighters and other community leaders expected to be among those cooking up breakfast.
In 2023, more than 200 volunteers across the region were honoured. Live music was also featured.

The South Okanagan Similkameen Volunteer Centre helps more than 110 organizations connect with potential volunteers.
Its base of volunteers is over 1,500, according to the group, which also helps “inspire and foster volunteer engagement.”
National Volunteer Week 2024 in Canada is celebrated from April 14 to 20.
