Summerland filled with people who love the arts and are willing to pass on that love

There have been a lot of great opportunities around Summerland for those who are interested in learning about the arts.

I love this. It shows that not only is Summerland filled with people who love the arts and are willing to pass on that love, but it also shows that thee are lots of people who are interested in learning more.

What’s even better is that these opportunities are available to people of all ages, which means that, no matter what point in your life you’re at you can learn a new artist skill right here in Summerland.

A great example of this is the “Have you ever wanted to…” workshop series that the Arts Council is running.

This series initially started off as something that ran for a set period of time.

What’s fantastic is that initial series of workshops seems to have done so well, more workshops have been added to the schedule.

What’s nice about these is that they’re designed to give you a taste of what a certain art form is all about.

You spend a few hours working with someone from the community and learning about how to get started on something.

By the end, you should have a great sense of whether or not you wish to continue on with your learning.

The next session takes place on June 10 and is all about fly tying.

If you’ve ever wanted to try out tying flies, this is your chance.

The class is being run by Bob Burt, who spends more time on the water than almost anyone I know, and who also runs a winter fly tying club here in Summerland.

For more information on this workshop series visit www.summerlandarts.com.

New sessions are being added all the time.
